On April 9, 2002, the voters of Alameda approved the formation of the City of Alameda Health Care District. The passage of this health care district initiative allows Alameda Hospital to continue to provide you and your family with quality and personalized health care, close to home.

The City of Alameda Health Care District (District) was informed by Jordan Battani of her resignation on May 9, 2014. Such resignation was effective on May 23, 2014. The District must appoint an individual to fill the vacant position on its Board of Directors.
Individuals interested in being considered for this appointment must submit an “Application Package”, as described below, to the District. Application Packages must be delivered to the District, at the address below, no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014.
An applicant to fill the vacancy must meet the following minimum requirements: (1) be a resident and registered voter in the District, (2) not have been suspended or expelled from participation in the Medicare program, and (3) not have been convicted of a felony.
The City of Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors consists of five representatives, elected at large, who are responsible for the policy direction of the District. Under statutory procedures established in California Government Code Section 1780, the vacant directorship will be subject to election in November 4, 2014 for a two (2) year term.
The District will conduct an Applicant Conference on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the 2 East Board Room at Alameda Hospital, for the purpose of familiarizing Applicants with the District and Alameda Hospital. Applicants are encouraged to attend. The Board of Directors plans to interview and appoint applicants, selected according to the procedures set forth below, at the District Board Meeting, to be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Meetings will be conducted in the William Dal Cielo Conference Room. City of Alameda Health Care District Board Vacancy
ALAMEDA, CA, May 27, 2014 —
The City of Alameda Health Care District (District) was informed of the resignation of Director Jordan Battani effective May 23, 2014. Ms. Battani’s resignation occurs mid-term and thus the position will be up for election in the November 4, 2014 General Election to serve out the remaining two (2) years of the term.
At the June 4, 2014 District Board meeting, the Board of Directors will be reviewing proposed changes to District Resolution 2007-3E: Standard Appointment Procedure as well as a proposed timeline for the appointment process. The appointment will be made no later than July 22, 2014.
Information regarding the appointment procedure will be distributed and posted after the June 4, 2014 District Board meeting.
